Tech Savvy Articles
It was fun to look at other people's articles and experiments. Although many of the same technologies were used, it was interesting to read what my peers learned from their experiences. Karissa Dodds said that technology provides teachers with abundant resources. And I thought, if there are so many resources out there, why aren't more teachers using them?! Her statement made me appreciate this technology class a little more. Sarah Kidd supports Karissa by saying that it is the teacher's full responsibility to tap into those resources and use them! Sarah used the digital microscope in her experiment and enlightened us on the many benefits of that piece of technology. She said that it saves time spent on managing the usage of multiple microscopes and ultimately helps with classroom management. Anonther great benefit is that classrooms do not have to spend the money to supply multiple microscopes, when only one needs to be purchased for everyone to see. A major benefit mentioned by Karissa when using the temperature probes is that students can collect and analyze their own data! How fun! Using technology engages students and introduces them to new ways of learning and discovery.
